Bootcamp Productions, based in Eastbourne and operating throughout the UK and USA, are casting Karen Bartholomews "Spin City", a bittersweet comedy with some social and political under- and over- tones, for 2 performances at Brighton's Purple Playhouse on May 8th with a proposed transfer to Edinburgh w/e August 18th or w/c August 20th.

Auditions will be held at the Caroline of Brunswick in Brighton, 3pm - 6.30pm on March 6th.

The director is Jack Kristiansen.

Synopsis
Monday afternoon, not much going on besides a bank robbery down the street and chores at Spin City Launderette. Margaret, Mistress of the Laundrette, has health issues that could be better addressed, Jud hates his job and his dad, Teddy just lost his job and maybe his wife and Lol thinks the world owes her everything. Between washes and the robbery, Spin City users could become the unlikely beneficiaries. The only problem is a strangely "Special" Constable.

Margaret, 60s,
launderette worker, downtrodden. Would like private healthcare.

Jud, 20s /30s,
Life guard, depressive on zero hours contract.

Teddy, mid 50s,
Teacher, gambler. Lost his job.

Lol, 20s,
Catering student, in debt
