How to stay safe
Here at FilmExtras, we take the safety of our members extremely seriously. That's why we'd like you to read the following tips about how to stay safe online and at auditions.
- Don't give away your money. Film and TV jobs should not ask you for a fee to attend an audition or to be considered for a role, so be very sceptical if somebody is asking you for money ahead of the event.
- Occasionally, agencies may use FilmExtras to post listings when they are looking for new people for their books. Agencies usually only take a fee or commission out of what you are paid for a job after you do a job, so be careful about giving money away up front.
- If you suspect there's something fishy about a job listing, report it to us by using our contact form and we'll look into it immediately.
- Trust your instincts. Not all listings on FilmExtras will be for professional productions. You might have applied to act in a job on a student film or a film by amateur filmmakers, and that's great, but be careful about getting into situations you don't want to be in or that you would be cautious of in everyday life.
